Transaction Processing Officer – Luxembourg

About the role

The European Investment Bank is looking for a Transaction Processing Officer to join its Special Lending Operations team at the Luxembourg headquarters. The role supports timely and accurate processing of high‑volume financial transactions while contributing to the digital transformation of back‑office operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end processing of lending transactions, ensuring compliance with bank policies and deadlines.
• Monitor and manage operational and settlement risks in a high‑criticality environment.
• Contribute to automation initiatives, including AI/ML models, RPA bots, and Distributed Ledger Technology for settlement.
• Analyse transaction data to improve straight‑through processing and data quality.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Legal, IT and Data teams on cross‑functional projects.
• Support reporting and documentation for internal and external audit.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial markets transaction processing or back‑office operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with regulatory and risk frameworks governing banking transactions.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good communication skills in English; additional EU languages a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) concepts.
• Experience with AI/ML techniques for process optimisation.
• Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
