Trainee - Equity Investments & Data Analytics

About the role

The European Investment Fund is looking for a motivated trainee to join its Equity Investments & Data Analytics team in Luxembourg for a five‑month period starting September 2026. You will work within the Transaction Services Unit, supporting the department’s effort to provide risk finance to European SMEs and mid‑caps.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structured data quality reviews by comparing system datapoints with actual fund strategies, sectors and investment activities.
• Enrich and refine portfolio datapoints in close collaboration with investment managers, improving classification consistency.
• Support the development of analytical views, dashboards and reporting outputs leveraging the improved dataset.
• Identify opportunities to expand or improve system datapoints to enhance business analytics and investment decision‑making.

Required profile

• Interest in equity investments, private capital markets and data analytics.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior team members and collaborate with investment managers.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
