Technical Director, Construction

About the role

CloudHQ is looking for a Technical Director, Construction to lead the technical execution of its hyperscale data‑centre projects across EMEA. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as the owner’s technical authority from pre‑construction through commissioning and hand‑over, ensuring that each facility meets the company’s Basis of Design, performance targets and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership during construction, ensuring compliance with approved design, specifications and contracts.
• Lead technical reviews of construction‑stage deliverables, shop drawings, RFIs and material submittals.
• Support pre‑construction activities with constructability input, sequencing, logistics and interface management.
• Establish and oversee QA/QC frameworks for civil, structural, architectural, MEP and control systems.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks across design, procurement and construction phases.
• Resolve technical issues, conduct root‑cause analysis and manage non‑conformances.
• Oversee power, cooling, life‑safety, controls and BMS systems to achieve required resiliency and operational readiness.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior technical leadership of data‑centre or large‑scale infrastructure construction.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different countries.
• Strong understanding of regional regulatory obligations and safety standards.
