Description du poste

About the role

As the UAS Systems Architect for Edge AI at LUXUAV, you will own the end‑to‑end technical architecture of our unmanned aerial vehicle ecosystem, from concept through fielded capability. This senior individual‑contributor position combines systems engineering with hands‑on software development to deliver AI‑enabled UAV solutions for defence, civil, firefighting and police missions.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and justify UAV hardware, thermal management, memory and power budgets within tactical SWaP constraints; produce ICDs and system block diagrams.
  • Lead cross‑functional architecture decisions across firmware, machine‑learning, flight controls, payload, RF and test engineering through design reviews and trade studies.
  • Architect the sensor‑fusion and AI inference pipeline for multi‑modal inputs (EO/IR, thermal, RF) and manage the on‑board model lifecycle.
  • Develop GNSS‑denied navigation solutions resilient to electronic warfare.
  • Design swarm topologies, real‑time task allocation and autonomous re‑planning for multi‑vehicle coordination.
  • Define communications and networking architecture across the platform stack.
  • Implement safety‑critical decision logic, fail‑safe behaviours and security integration with cryptographic chain‑of‑custody.
  • Specify verification and validation strategies, HIL/SIL test architectures, fault‑injection and performance benchmarking.
  • Maintain systems‑engineering documentation including ConOps, SRS and ICDs.

Required profile

  • Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics or related field (Bachelor’s with strong experience accepted; PhD a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems architecture, embedded systems or autonomy engineering in aerospace, defence or robotics.
  • 2+ years developing UAS, autonomous vehicles or comparable real‑time robotic platforms.
  • Proven track record deploying AI/ML inference on embedded hardware under real‑time SWaP constraints.

Required skills

  • UAV hardware selection, thermal management and power budgeting.
  • ICD creation, system block diagramming and requirements decomposition.
  • Firmware development, machine‑learning integration, flight‑control and payload engineering.
  • RF engineering and communications networking.
  • AI inference pipeline, sensor‑fusion, model quantization and optimization.
  • GNSS‑denied navigation and electronic‑warfare resilience.
  • Swarm coordination, real‑time task allocation and autonomous re‑planning.
  • Safety‑critical system design, fail‑safe logic and cryptographic security.
  • HIL/SIL testing, verification & validation, fault injection.
  • ConOps, SRS, ICD documentation.
  • RTOS, embedded Linux and deterministic scheduling.
