Software Engineer Intern – Application Security (4 months)

About the role

Deutsche Börse Group is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern for a four‑month placement starting early 2027. You will work within the security team to help protect critical finance infrastructure by identifying and remediating application vulnerabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and triage security vulnerabilities in applications and services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and implement remediation plans.
• Participate in secure coding reviews and testing activities.
• Assist with patch management and validation of fixes.
• Help improve internal security processes, documentation, and best practices.
• Monitor security advisories and contribute to proactive risk reduction.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or a related field, or graduated within the last six months.
• Strong interest in application security and secure software development.
• Basic knowledge of common vulnerability types (e.g., OWASP Top 10) is a plus.
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
