Software Architect, Satellite Control Systems

About the role

Join the Software Center of Expertise at SES and lead the design and evolution of mission‑critical satellite control software. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, turning complex challenges into clear, innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the demand management team to design and develop new features.
• Design, implement, and maintain the architecture of mission‑critical operational software.
• Gather, analyse, and define software requirements with internal stakeholders.
• Identify and propose innovative enhancements to existing architecture.
• Guide validation activities to ensure reliability and performance.
• Lead anomaly investigations and implement preventive measures.
• Present solutions, conduct peer‑code reviews, and deliver demos to stakeholders.
• Mentor team members, support onboarding, and promote knowledge sharing.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience developing and testing mission‑critical software systems.
• Strong expertise in Go (Golang) programming.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
