Social and Gender Expert (Luxembourg)

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking a Social and Gender Expert to join its Sustainability & Climate Office in Luxembourg. This full‑time, two‑year fixed‑term role will support the implementation of the Bank’s gender policies and contribute to the third Gender Action Plan.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, report on, and ensure the quality of the Gender Action Plan (GAPIII) and related frameworks.
• Design and deliver practical tools, guidance and help‑desk support for gender and social inclusion across the Bank’s lending portfolio.
• Develop and maintain digital appraisal tools for staff and clients to scale gender‑focused financing.
• Oversee Group‑wide gender data, dashboards, and reporting, including contributions to SAB and 2X qualifications.
• Enhance visibility of the Bank’s gender achievements through storytelling and communication.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including MDBs, EU institutions, NGOs and government ministries.
• Occasional travel outside Luxembourg to engage with regional partners.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in gender equality, social inclusion and related EU policy frameworks.
• Experience working in a multilateral development bank or similar financial institution.
• Proven ability to design tools, manage data quality and provide advisory support.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
