Senior System Defect Resolution Engineer

About the role

The Senior System Defect Resolution Engineer will join the PowerDrive Systems Division of a leading industrial company in Luxembourg, focusing on power electronic inverters for hybrid and electric vehicle propulsion. The role is a long‑term freelance assignment that combines technical analysis, coordination and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Failure analysis: retrieve defective hardware, reproduce the issue and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Technical coordination: lead investigations and coordinate hardware, software, systems engineering, test and quality teams.
• Test definition and execution: design and perform bench testing, Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HiL), eDyne and vehicle testing.
• Customer interaction: present investigation results, explain root causes, propose corrective actions and participate in technical meetings.
• Defect tracking and reporting: manage issues in JIRA, monitor status, follow up on action plans and report KPIs.

Required profile

• Strong automotive engineering background with experience in power electronics and embedded systems.
• Proven expertise in root‑cause analysis, defect resolution and troubleshooting of EV/hybrid vehicle systems.
• Hands‑on experience with power electronic inverters and test engineering.
• Fluent English; German is a strong advantage.
