Senior Operational Assistant – Luxembourg

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking a (Senior) Operational Assistant to join its Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate in Luxembourg. The role is based at the headquarters and requires regular on‑site presence. It is a full‑time, one‑year fixed‑term position supporting the Implementation, Delinked Risk Sharing and Central Allocation Unit (IDCA) in the Intermediated Lending Division.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team in the implementation of Intermediated Lending operations, ensuring timely and accurate allocation processing.
• Perform eligibility controls and sample checks on allocation requests using the unit’s IT tools.
• Support monitoring activities, data entry and administrative tasks related to portfolio allocations and risk‑sharing transactions.
• Collaborate with the Head of Unit and other team members to maintain smooth workflow and documentation.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in finance, economics or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good analytical mindset and capacity to follow procedural guidelines.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
