Senior Network & Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

The Senior Network & Cyber Security Engineer will design and implement robust security concepts for both on‑premise and cloud environments, protecting the information assets of SES and its affiliates. This role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution in a highly complex, multinational network landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and document network, cloud and system security architectures that mitigate risk while supporting operational needs.
• Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, web proxies, email security gateways, WAFs, network access control and privileged access solutions.
• Define and enforce security policies aligned with industry best practices and business requirements.
• Lead hardware and software upgrades, configuration changes, and third‑line troubleshooting for security infrastructure.
• Drive complex security projects from conception to delivery, ensuring scope, schedule and budget compliance.
• Support the development of security standards, conduct audits, vulnerability assessments and manage remediation activities.
• Assist in incident detection, analysis and response, providing clear recommendations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to security engineers and contribute to their professional development.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in network and cyber security engineering.
• Proven ability to lead security projects and advise technical teams.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk mitigation.
