Senior Chemical Risk Assessor (M/F)

About the role

The Laboratoire national de santé (LNS) is seeking a Senior Chemical Risk Assessor to join its Medical Expertise and Data Intelligence (MEDI) service within the Department of Health Protection. This full‑time position (40 h/week) is a fixed‑term contract for two years, starting as soon as possible. The role will be closely linked to the European Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals (PARC) program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive chemical risk assessments for environmental and occupational health contexts.
• Support the PARC program by providing scientific expertise and data analysis.
• Deliver expert advice to hospitals, ministries, and occupational medicine services.
• Participate in national epidemiological surveys and public‑health studies related to chemical exposure.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• PhD degree in chemistry, toxicology, environmental health or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in chemical risk assessment at a senior level.
• Familiarity with European chemical regulations (e.g., REACH, CLP).
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary public‑health environment.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.
