Senior Business Development Manager – Advanced Materials & Polymers

About the role

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) seeks a senior professional to lead business development for advanced materials, polymers and composites. The role bridges scientific research with industry, creating partnerships that turn cutting‑edge technology into market‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate collaboration opportunities with industrial partners, academic institutions and public funding bodies.
• Lead the negotiation and establishment of research‑driven partnerships, technology licensing agreements and joint R&D projects.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to translate research results into commercial applications, focusing on sustainable composites, circular materials and Industry 4.0/5.0 processes.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of revenue‑generating projects, including innovation programmes and strategic alliances.
• Represent LIST in national and international forums, strengthening its position as a European innovation hub.

Required profile

• 10+ years of international business development experience, preferably in advanced materials or related sectors.
• Proven track record in research valorisation, technology transfer and public‑private partnership management.
• Extensive network across industry, academia and innovation ecosystems in Europe and globally.
• Strong scientific literacy in materials science, polymers and composites.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
