Sector Specialist – Innovation Fund (Luxembourg)

About the role

The European Investment Bank is seeking a Sector Specialist to support the Innovation Fund Unit in Luxembourg. The role focuses on providing technical assistance for low‑carbon and energy‑efficiency projects across the energy, industrial and net‑zero mobility sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Review project eligibility under the Innovation Fund Project Development Assistance (PDA) contribution agreement.
• Assess the technical viability and environmental sustainability of project proposals.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to evaluate the maturity of low‑carbon technologies.
• Liaise with the European Commission (DG CLIMA) and CINEA on project matters.
• Coordinate with internal units such as Operations, Legal and other Directorates to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• University degree in engineering, environmental science or a related discipline.
• Experience assessing low‑carbon or energy‑efficiency technologies.
• Familiarity with EU climate policy and Innovation Fund regulations.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, international environment.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
