Research Fellow – Evidence Synthesis Unit

About the role

LUNEX, a private University of Applied Sciences in Luxembourg, is establishing an Evidence Synthesis Unit within its Department of Health. We are looking for a Research Fellow to lead and expand systematic review, meta‑analysis, and other secondary literature research activities, leveraging modern tools and AI‑assisted technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, conduct and supervise systematic reviews, meta‑analyses, scoping reviews and related evidence syntheses.
• Apply advanced methods to assess study quality, evaluate risk of bias, and synthesize findings.
• Utilise and optimise tools such as Rayyan, TERA, Covidence, Cochrane Collaboration platforms, Search Refiner and other review accelerators.
• Explore and integrate AI and machine‑learning solutions to streamline literature‑review workflows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to set research priorities and align evidence synthesis with the unit’s objectives.
• Mentor and train students, junior researchers and staff in systematic‑review methodologies and tool usage.
• Disseminate results through peer‑reviewed publications, conferences and public‑facing media (websites, videos, infographics).

Required profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Sciences or a related discipline.
• Proven experience conducting systematic reviews, meta‑analyses and other secondary research.
• Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals demonstrating expertise in evidence synthesis.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Rayyan, TERA, Covidence, Search Refiner and Cochrane Collaboration tools.
• Experience with AI/ML‑assisted literature synthesis and text‑mining platforms.
• Competence in managing large bibliographic datasets using EndNote, Zotero or Mendeley.
• Knowledge of risk‑of‑bias assessment frameworks and systematic‑review methodology standards.
