Portuguese QA Lead (Remote)

About the role

This is an hourly, remote contractor position leading quality assurance for Portuguese AI training projects. You will ensure that all Portuguese content and trainer work meet high standards of accuracy, fluency, cultural relevance, and adherence to project rubrics.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Portuguese AI training projects.
• Review AI‑generated Portuguese content and trainer/QA output, evaluating against detailed guidelines.
• Provide precise written feedback in English and ensure contributors follow quality standards.
• Assess work for grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction‑following, formatting, and rubric compliance.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and support onboarding of new contributors.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, onboarding materials, and other documentation.
• Activate and re‑engage contributors who are not working consistently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Portuguese, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native Portuguese proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and providing feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Portuguese writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, or annotation.
• Deep knowledge of Portuguese grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, regional usage, and Brazil‑specific localization.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
