Platform Architect

About the role

We are looking for a Platform Architect to own and evolve production‑grade Kubernetes platforms across managed, on‑premises and bare‑metal environments. The role combines deep technical design, security, and observability expertise with client advisory and mentorship responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain multi‑environment, multi‑cluster Kubernetes architectures, including networking, storage and security baselines.
• Define reference architectures, platform standards and lifecycle strategies for engineering teams.
• Architect advanced cluster networking using CNI (Cilium), ingress, load balancing and BGP‑based routing for on‑premises and bare‑metal deployments.
• Establish infrastructure‑as‑code and GitOps practices with Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm/Kustomize and Argo CD or Flux.
• Set observability, resilience and scaling strategies covering monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, autoscaling and capacity planning.
• Lead security architecture design, including RBAC, Pod Security Standards, network policies, secrets management and image policy guardrails.
• Conduct client workshops, advisory sessions and training as the senior technical authority.
• Provide architectural escalation support and guidance to Platform Engineers.
• Shape AI‑infrastructure direction, covering model serving, GPU scheduling and ML platform patterns on Kubernetes.
• Mentor engineers and promote cloud‑native best practices across the team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and operating production Kubernetes platforms, preferably with OpenShift or Rancher (RKE2).
• Strong background in advanced networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, BGP) and Kubernetes networking (CNI, ingress).
• Proven track record with infrastructure‑as‑code and GitOps tooling (Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, Flux).
• Deep knowledge of security and governance in Kubernetes environments.
• Experience leading workshops, client advisory and mentoring engineering teams.
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills in English; French is a plus.
