Medical Technical Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics

About the role

Laboratoires Réunis is expanding its molecular diagnostics department and seeks a Medical Technical Assistant to support infectious disease testing. The position is full‑time (40 h/week) with alternating Saturday duties, working on‑site in a modern laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process samples in the molecular biology of infectious diseases unit.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction, DNA quantification, and PCR assays.
• Analyse results and handle partially and fully automated laboratory equipment.
• Operate independently following established protocols.
• Maintain, calibrate, and supervise laboratory equipment.
• Prepare and update SOPs, forms, and procedures for specific instruments.
• Use laboratory software, including the laboratory information system and document management tools.
• Order reagents and consumables to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Conduct inter‑laboratory tests for various parameters.
• Assist the Head/Deputy Head of Department during internal and external audits.
• Maintain the laboratory premises and support additional tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Training as a medical‑technical assistant, laboratory technician, graduate biologist or equivalent.
• Professional recognition and authorization to work in Luxembourg.
• Good knowledge of English and French; German is a plus.
• Experience in molecular biology, especially PCR, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with quality management standards (ISO 15189) is an asset.
• Proficiency with MS‑Office; experience with laboratory software is desirable.
