Medical Technical Assistant (f/m)

About the role

Laboratoires Réunis is expanding its molecular diagnostics department in Luxembourg and seeks a Medical Technical Assistant to support the molecular biology unit focused on infectious diseases. The role is full‑time, on‑site, and includes rotating Saturday duties.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process patient samples for molecular testing.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction, DNA quantification and PCR assays.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate and supervise partially and fully automated laboratory equipment.
• Analyze and interpret PCR results using the laboratory information system.
• Prepare and update SOPs, forms and equipment‑specific procedures.
• Order reagents and consumables to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
• Conduct inter‑laboratory comparisons and assist in internal and external audits.
• Maintain laboratory premises and ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 15189).

Required profile

• Formal training as a medical‑technical assistant, laboratory technician, graduate biologist or equivalent.
• Authorization to work in Luxembourg.
• Good command of English and French; German is a plus.
• Initiative, flexibility and ability to work autonomously and within a team.

Required skills

• Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques.
• Nucleic acid extraction and DNA quantification.
• Use of laboratory information systems and equipment software.
• Equipment calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
