Mainframe Engineer – z/OS Migration & Modernization

About the role

We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer to join a global technology company that delivers IT services, consulting and outsourcing. The role focuses on maintaining, evolving and modernising z/OS environments, supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations and the full software lifecycle for critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support migration of LPARs from z16 to z17, working closely with IBM.
• Configure and set up mainframe hardware in collaboration with vendors.
• Perform z/OS upgrades and routine system maintenance.
• Manage upgrades of third‑party software such as DB2, CICS, COBOL, IBM MQ and IWS.
• Participate in the migration from Broadcom tools to IBM or BMC solutions.
• Ensure stability and proper maintenance of the mainframe environment following ITIL processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe environments.
• Strong expertise in z/OS and proven mainframe migration experience.
• Experience working with IBM hardware and vendor coordination.
• Solid background in system and software upgrades.
• Good knowledge of ITIL and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent English communication skills.
