Life Sciences Specialist – Luxembourg

About the role

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is seeking a Life Sciences Specialist to join its Innovation and Competitiveness Department in Luxembourg. This full‑time, permanent position works within multi‑disciplinary project teams to evaluate and support innovative life‑sciences projects across the EU.

Key responsibilities

• Assess strategic consistency, technical feasibility, commercial viability and economic sustainability of life‑sciences projects during the EIB due‑diligence process.
• Review technical documentation, prepare standardized reports and contribute to internal processing of operations.
• Identify, coordinate and deliver technical assistance assignments to build project capacity and impact.
• Monitor approved projects, support restructuring when needed, and ensure successful completion.
• Contribute to sectoral studies, policy reviews and transversal activities within the Life Sciences and Health Division.

Required profile

• Strong background in life sciences, health, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics or medical‑device technology.
• Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams on complex investment projects.
• Ability to analyse technical and economic aspects of innovative projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
