Laboratory Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics (Full‑time, Fixed‑term)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Assistant (Laborantin) to join the Molecular Diagnostics Service of the National Center of Genetics. The position is a one‑year full‑time contract based in Luxembourg, supporting the analysis of human genetic samples.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process samples, handling pre‑analytical steps and documentation.
• Perform DNA extraction, real‑time PCR and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Assist in developing and validating new molecular genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation activities, including writing SOPs.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot failures and coordinate maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, preferably with a focus on biological sciences or genetics.
• Official authorization to work as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg.
• Strong interest in human genetics and willingness to learn new analytical methods.
