Laboratory Assistant – Molecular Diagnostics (2‑year contract)

About the role

The National Center of Genetics is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join its Molecular Diagnostics Service for a two‑year full‑time contract. The role supports genetic testing and cancer molecular analysis, contributing to high‑quality diagnostic services.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process samples, handling pre‑analytical documentation.
• Perform DNA extraction, real‑time PCR and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Assist in developing new molecular genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation activities, including SOP creation.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot failures, and ensure proper upkeep.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, biological sciences or genetics.
• Authorized to work as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg.
• Strong interest in human genetics and willingness to learn new analytical methods.
• Mandatory experience with molecular biology techniques.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional language skills are a plus.
