Laboratory Assistant – Laborantin (m/f)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Assistant (Laborantin) to join the Molecular Diagnostics Service of the National Center of Genetics, part of the Laboratoire National de Santé in Luxembourg. The role is a full‑time fixed‑term position (1 year) focused on supporting genetic testing and research activities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive samples, perform pre‑analytical steps and ensure proper documentation.
• Carry out routine molecular analyses, including DNA extraction, real‑time PCR and Next‑Generation Sequencing assays.
• Assist in developing and validating new molecular genetic diagnostic procedures.
• Support quality management and accreditation efforts, drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot failures and coordinate maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in laboratory technology, preferably with a focus on biological sciences or genetics.
• Official authorization to work as a “Laborantin” or “ATM de Laboratoire” in Luxembourg, issued by the Ministry of Health.
• Strong interest in human genetics (both constitutional and acquired) and a willingness to learn new analytical methods.
