Junior IT Monitoring and CMDB System Engineer

About the role
The Junior Monitoring and CMDB System Engineer works within the Monitoring and CMS squads, providing operational support for monitoring and CMDB tools across the organisation. Working under senior engineers, the role focuses on incident handling, basic administration and continuous improvement in a secure enterprise environment.
Key responsibilities
- Resolve incident, problem and change tickets within defined SLAs.
- Escalate complex issues to vendors and coordinate vendor support.
- Administer Key Management Services (KMS) and associated HSM platforms.
- Execute operational tasks following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Create, maintain and improve operational documentation.
- Participate in proactive and reactive problem management.
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, service owners and stakeholders.
- Contribute to service evolution, KPIs and operational excellence initiatives.
- Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Required profile
- 0–2 years of experience in Linux system administration, system engineering or IT operations.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux in an enterprise environment.
- Understanding of observability, monitoring and CMDB concepts.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, jump‑host/bastion environments and asset management tools.
- Willingness to learn scripting with Bash or Python.
- Motivation to automate repetitive tasks and learn ITIL processes.
- EU citizenship, ability to work shifts (7 AM–8 PM) and fluency in English.
