Internship in Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning

About the role

The Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) is seeking a motivated intern to join its research team focused on privacy‑preserving federated learning. You will work on cutting‑edge projects that aim to make distributed machine learning secure and trustworthy.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and benchmark state‑of‑the‑art federated learning schemes.
• Develop privacy‑enhancing mechanisms for federated learning frameworks.
• Implement robustness and trustworthiness solutions to protect against attacks such as data poisoning and membership inference.

Required profile

• Holder of a BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
• Strong programming abilities, especially in Python and C++.
• Familiarity with federated learning concepts and related security threats is a plus.
• Experience with data preprocessing, particularly for healthcare data, is a plus.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
