Health Sector Specialist – Luxembourg

About the role

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is seeking a Health Sector Specialist to join its Life Sciences and Health Division in Luxembourg. Working within the Projects Directorate, you will help evaluate and shape health‑related investment projects across the EU, contributing to the Bank’s strategy on innovation, digitalisation, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the technical and economic viability of health sector projects, including pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and medical devices.
• Evaluate procurement standards and ensure compliance with environmental, climate and social sustainability criteria.
• Provide independent policy advice to EIB decision‑makers on health sector investment priorities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, prepare, and monitor project implementation.
• Support promoters in project design and preparation, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in economics, engineering, life sciences or a related field.
• Experience in health sector analysis, project finance or investment appraisal.
• Strong understanding of EU health policies, innovation financing and sustainability frameworks.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
