Head of National Center of Pathology (NCP)

About the role

The National Center of Pathology (NCP) within Luxembourg's Laboratoire national de santé is seeking a senior leader to head its two main services: Pathological anatomy and Gynaecological cytology. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and sitting on the Executive Committee, the Head will guide a team of roughly 100 professionals in delivering high‑quality diagnostic services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the NCP in line with the institution’s vision and missions.
• Develop and implement the centre’s operational strategy, ensuring alignment with national health objectives.
• Oversee the Pathological anatomy service, including its seven specialized units and the joint molecular pathology platform.
• Manage the Gynaecological cytology service, including digital cytology workflows and molecular HPV testing.
• Coordinate with the National Center of Genetics and other internal departments to foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Represent the NCP on the Executive Committee and report directly to the COO.
