About the role
The Head of the Department of Management leads the department at LUNEX, reporting to the Academic Director. The role combines strategic leadership with academic and operational management to advance the department’s education, research and service missions in line with the institution’s strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Department of Management, ensuring alignment with LUNEX’s core values.
- Lead the design, development, delivery and continuous review of Bachelor and Master programmes to ensure relevance, excellence and graduate employability.
- Develop and oversee a portfolio of Continuing Professional Development courses in management, leadership, sport business, health management and wellbeing.
- Ensure all programmes meet internal and external quality‑assurance standards and manage accreditation activities.
- Build and drive the department’s research agenda in sport management.
- Strengthen and expand academic, professional and industry partnerships.
- Promote evidence‑based teaching, digitalisation, student‑centred learning and research productivity among staff.
- Set and monitor KPIs for student satisfaction, retention, performance, employability, research output and international collaborations.
- Manage departmental budget, resources and facilities in collaboration with central services.
- Enhance the department’s national and international profile through industry and sector networks.
- Ensure a high‑quality student experience and promote diversity, inclusion and internationalisation.
Required profile
- Proven strategic leadership experience in a higher‑education setting.
- Track record of designing and managing Bachelor and Master programmes.
- Experience with programme accreditation and quality‑assurance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop research agendas and secure external collaborations.
- Strong network‑building skills with academic, professional and industry partners.
- Experience in budgeting, resource allocation and operational management.
- Commitment to staff development, evidence‑based teaching and research excellence.
- Focus on student‑centred services, diversity, inclusion and internationalisation.
