Head of Department – Department of Management

About the role

The Head of the Department of Management will provide strategic leadership and oversee the academic and operational activities of the department at LUNEX. Reporting to the Academic Director, the role is central to advancing education, research and service missions in line with the institution’s strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the department’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with LUNEX’s core values.
• Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Bachelor and Master programmes in management.
• Develop and manage a portfolio of Continuing Professional Development courses covering management, leadership, sport business, health management and wellbeing.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external quality‑assurance standards and oversee accreditation processes.
• Shape and promote the department’s research agenda, particularly in sport management.
• Expand academic, professional and industry partnerships at national and international levels.
• Foster staff development, evidence‑based teaching, digitalisation and research productivity.
• Set and monitor KPIs for student satisfaction, retention, graduate employability, research output and international collaborations.
• Manage the departmental budget, resources and facilities in coordination with central services.
• Champion a student‑centred experience, promoting diversity, inclusion and internationalisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in academic leadership and department management.
• Track record of developing and reviewing bachelor and master programmes.
• Experience in creating and delivering CPD or professional development courses.
• Familiarity with quality‑assurance, accreditation and compliance processes.
• Demonstrated ability to build research programmes and secure external partnerships.
• Strong budgetary and resource‑allocation skills.
• Commitment to student‑centred teaching, diversity and internationalisation.
