Head of Clinical Genetics Service

About the role

The National Center of Genetics is seeking an experienced Clinical Geneticist with strong leadership abilities to head its Clinical Genetics Service. This full‑time, permanent role will guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering high‑quality genetic care and advancing genomic medicine in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational and financial management of the service, ensuring efficiency and alignment with institutional goals.
• Supervise and support clinicians, psychologists, and counselors within the multidisciplinary team.
• Instruct and mentor doctors in specialist genetics training.
• Provide expert genetic consultations for rare diseases and hereditary cancers.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and maintain high clinical service standards.
• Review and medically validate genetic laboratory test results.
• Contribute to the implementation of new diagnostic methods and technologies.

Required profile

• Qualified Clinical Geneticist with several years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑management skills.
• Strong knowledge of rare diseases, hereditary cancers, and genomic medicine.
• Ability to oversee service operations and financial aspects.
