Head of Clinical Genetics Service

About the role

The Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS) is seeking an experienced Clinical Geneticist to lead its Clinical Genetics Service within the National Center of Genetics. This senior position combines clinical expertise with operational leadership to ensure high‑quality genetic care for Luxembourg's population.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational and financial performance of the Clinical Genetics Service, aligning with institutional goals.
• Supervise a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, psychologists, and counselors.
• Provide expert genetic consultations for rare diseases and hereditary cancers.
• Instruct and mentor doctors in specialist genetics training.
• Ensure compliance with the laboratory’s quality management system and validate genetic test results.
• Drive implementation of new diagnostic methods and emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Clinical Genetics.
• Significant experience in clinical genetics, preferably in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and budgets.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and staff training.

• Genetic sequencing techniques.
• Quality management systems in a clinical laboratory setting.
