German Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

In this remote, hourly contractor position you will lead German quality assurance for AI training projects. You will ensure that AI‑generated German content and trainer work meet high standards of accuracy, fluency, cultural appropriateness and adherence to detailed rubrics.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated German content and trainer/QA output against project guidelines.
• Provide precise written feedback in English and German to improve quality.
• Identify recurring quality issues and communicate updates to trainers and QA teams.
• Support onboarding of new contributors and maintain documentation of quality processes.
• Monitor contributor performance and activate inconsistent workers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in German, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, Quality Assurance or a related field.
• Native or near‑native German proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and providing feedback.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in German writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or related language‑review workflows.
• Deep knowledge of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, case usage, tone, register and cultural context, including differences across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Required skills

• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and spot issues such as mistranslation, unnatural tone, incorrect case, awkward compounds, hallucinated claims or inconsistent terminology.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers or QA specialists (preferred).
