Field Service Engineer

About the role

Alter Domus is looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver reliable on‑site support for end‑user devices and workplace equipment. You will be the first point of contact for hardware and software issues, ensuring devices are prepared, deployed and maintained throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, configure and deliver laptops, peripherals and standard workplace equipment for joiners, movers and leavers.
• Perform device imaging, provisioning and deployment using Microsoft Intune or Windows Autopilot.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on laptops, docking stations, monitors, keyboards, mice, headsets, printers and meeting‑room equipment.
• Coordinate device swaps, repairs and re‑imaging while minimizing user disruption.
• Conduct user handovers, provide basic equipment orientation and escalate complex issues.
• Execute user acceptance testing and obtain sign‑off after installations or repairs.
• Maintain accurate asset and inventory records in the ticketing system.
• Support logistics activities such as receiving, unpacking, assembling, and dispatching equipment for warranty or depot repair.
• Prepare devices for reuse or disposal, including data wiping and packaging for shipment.

Required profile

• Organised and service‑oriented with a strong focus on delivering consistent, high‑quality support.
• Comfortable working directly with end users and following documented procedures.
