Facilities Engineer – IRIS2 Programme

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Facilities Engineer to support the design, delivery, and operation of technical facilities for the IRIS2 programme. The role blends electrical and mechanical engineering expertise with physical‑security knowledge to keep our sites safe, efficient and highly available.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate and maintain electrical and mechanical systems such as power infrastructure, HVAC, fire protection, BMS and networking.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure high availability of critical systems.
• Implement and operate physical‑security solutions including access control, CCTV and perimeter security.
• Coordinate contractors and stakeholders during infrastructure and construction projects, from design through commissioning and hand‑over.
• Maintain documentation, technical drawings and support cost‑control and efficiency initiatives.
• Assist with health & safety processes, emergency preparedness and sustainability projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills.
• Proactive mindset with capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
