Director of Data Governance

About the role

Deel is looking for a Director of Data Governance to lead the transformation of its data ecosystem from fragmented silos into a unified, high‑quality enterprise asset. In this senior position you will design, implement and continuously improve a comprehensive Data Governance Framework that supports accurate, secure data ready for AI and advanced analytics initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a Data Governance roadmap aligned with the Enterprise Information & Governance vision.
• Review, maintain and enforce the Data Management Policy and Data Governance Charter to meet current regulatory requirements.
• Lead the evolution of the data ecosystem, consolidating silos into a single, trusted data asset.
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and readiness for AI‑driven analytics across the organization.
• Apply deep knowledge of SOX and public‑company data compliance requirements.
• Drive strategic design, implementation and continuous improvement of the Data Governance Framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading data governance initiatives within a public company.
• Strong understanding of SOX and other regulatory data requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to design and operationalize enterprise‑wide governance frameworks.
• Leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
