Cytogeneticist – Full‑time Permanent Position

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Cytogeneticist to join the Hematooncogenetics‑Cytogenetics service of the National Center of Genetics. The position is full‑time, permanent and based in our laboratory in Luxembourg.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of laboratory technicians and scientists in cytogenetics.
• Direct daily operations of the cytogenetic laboratory.
• Develop, validate and implement new procedures and techniques.
• Interpret and communicate genetic results to physicians and other health professionals.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Participate in training of medical students, residents and colleagues.
• Contribute to translational research activities of the Center.
• Collaborate with clinical genetics, molecular genetics and external healthcare partners.

Required profile

• Qualified cytogeneticist with several years of experience in clinical genetics laboratories.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a laboratory team.
• Strong communication skills for reporting results and training.
• Commitment to stay up‑to‑date with advances in cytogenetics.

• Cytogenetics techniques.

• Interpretation of constitutional and acquired chromosomal aberrations.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards.
