Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager will join Amazon’s operations team to lead the planning, design and construction of new and expanded Fulfillment Centers across Europe. This role is central to building the infrastructure that supports Amazon’s customer‑centric mission.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee construction engineering, planning and design for new fulfillment sites and expansions.
• Develop technical specifications, reports and analyses to define design requirements and equipment needs.
• Conduct facility surveys, audits and recommend solutions for infrastructure, safety and security issues.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring cost‑effectiveness and appropriate SLAs.
• Coordinate subcontractors, maintenance and commissioning engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coach project teams, monitor performance and enforce quality and schedule targets.
• Maintain information systems for scheduling and recording contract work.
• Share best practices and support continuous improvement across construction projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planning, designing and managing construction projects for large facilities.
• Strong knowledge of construction engineering, facilities management and contract administration.
• Ability to evaluate multiple site scenarios and develop standardized processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
