Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Deputy Director

About the role

The Laboratoire National de Santé (LNS) seeks a seasoned Chief Operating Officer (COO) who will also serve as Deputy Director. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will translate strategic objectives into operational plans, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day functioning across six medical and scientific departments.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operational activities, including production, service delivery, and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with the CEO, CFAO/Deputy Director, and Board to align operational goals with institutional strategy.
• Manage budgets, resources, and performance metrics to guarantee financial sustainability.
• Lead cross‑departmental initiatives, fostering collaboration among scientific, diagnostic, and forensic units.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and public‑service obligations.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in a complex, multidisciplinary organization.
• Strong scientific background, preferably in laboratory medicine or related biomedical fields.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and multi‑site operations.
• Excellent strategic thinking and decision‑making skills.
