Chief Accountant

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all daily accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and analytical accounting.
• Prepare, review, and validate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP and, if applicable, IFRS standards.
• Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits as well as tax audits.
• Collaborate closely with the tax department to manage VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other fiscal obligations.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.
• Drive initiatives to improve financial reporting, internal controls, and automation of accounting workflows.
• Provide financial support and relevant accounting expertise for cross‑functional projects and management requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional accounting qualifications are a plus.
• 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in Luxembourg or international settings.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and solid understanding of IFRS.
• In‑depth understanding of Luxembourg tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, autonomous and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in English and French.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
