AML Consultant, Compliance

About the role

Northern Trust Global Services SE, a credit institution supervised by the Luxembourg's Financial Sector Supervisory Authority and offering custody, depositary fund administration and capital markets services, is hiring an AML Consultant for its compliance team. The role reports to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and focuses on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CTF) and international financial sanctions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the business (in particular the Transfer Agency) on EU and Luxembourg AML/CTF and sanctions regulations, challenging the business and escalating issues to the MLRO as needed
• Carry out compliance monitoring reviews and follow up on identified issues until resolved
• Review and approve PEP and high-risk clients
• Cover new AML/CTF regulations (e.g. wire transfer rules) and sustain implementation of rules such as CSSF circulars on EU and national restrictive measures
• Produce AML/CTF compliance reporting, including input to the annual compliance report
• Contribute to the review of compliance policies and AML training content
• Take part in the annual AML/CTF and economic sanctions risk assessments and rule mapping
• Support the MLRO with other compliance tasks as they arise

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance or AML/CTF in banking or asset servicing in Luxembourg
• Understanding of AML/CTF and sanctions requirements in the EU and Luxembourg
• Understanding of custody, depositary, transfer agency and banking
• Self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team, with effective time management
• Very good written skills for succinct risk reporting and strong verbal communication in business meetings
