Academic Director

About the role

The Academic Director will serve as the senior academic leader of LUNEX, shaping the university’s academic strategy, programme portfolio and research agenda. Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the executive team, the role ensures high‑quality teaching, robust research culture and an excellent student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the university’s academic vision, programme development and research strategy.
• Ensure excellence in teaching, research and knowledge exchange across all programmes.
• Oversee academic governance, accreditation processes and continuous quality improvement.
• Identify and develop new interdisciplinary programmes and international partnerships.
• Lead and support Heads of Department and academic staff, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
• Collaborate with administrative services to align resources, budgets and systems with academic objectives.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline.
• Extensive academic leadership experience in higher education, including programme portfolio or research strategy development.
• Strong record of research excellence and ability to grow a research agenda.
• Proven knowledge of quality assurance and experience implementing internal QA systems.
• Experience in curriculum design, digital teaching, student‑centred pedagogies and international programmes.
• Ability to manage budgets, resources and staff.
