Software Engineer (Java / Angular)

About the role

Sopra Steria, a major European technology company active in consulting, digital services and software development, is hiring a Software Engineer in Leudelange. You will join a dynamic development team and help design, develop and improve business-critical applications, working on both backend and frontend components with business stakeholders and IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend services using Java 21 and Spring Boot
• Design, develop and maintain web application features with Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Take part in meetings with business stakeholders to align on requirements, priorities and delivery timelines
• Work closely with cross-functional IT teams and fellow developers
• Contribute to application maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement
• Identify, communicate and resolve technical issues and risks proactively
• Ensure compliance with development standards, best practices and quality requirements

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
• Solid experience (5 - 7 years) in software development with Java and Spring Boot
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating well with others
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent English and French (written and spoken)
• Willingness to work on-site and engage closely with business and technical stakeholders
