Senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to join a financial client’s infrastructure team in Luxembourg on a short‑term freelance basis. The role focuses on stabilising and modernising a large backlog of enterprise infrastructure, supporting both Unix/Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise‑grade Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
• Resolve incidents, perform operational troubleshooting and ensure platform stability.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations and modernisation projects such as OpenShift deployments.
• Collaborate with architecture, security and operations teams to maintain security and performance.
• Document procedures, technical environments and contribute to backlog reduction initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator in large‑scale production environments.
• Strong expertise in Linux/Unix infrastructure, preferably Red Hat Linux.
• Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift is a plus.
• Good understanding of storage and enterprise infrastructure operations.
• Familiarity with regulated or mission‑critical (banking) environments is advantageous.
• Fluent in French and English.

What we offer

• Freelance contract for an initial 3‑month period with possible extension.
• On‑site work in Luxembourg City (5 days/week initially, reduced to 2 days after onboarding).
