Senior Systems Engineer – Satellite Missions

About the role

As a Senior Systems Engineer you will support the full technical development of satellite missions—from early concept and requirements through to launch and in‑orbit commissioning. You will coordinate system‑level activities, manage interfaces, and ensure technical consistency across subsystems while maintaining control of the system baseline and engineering documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in technical planning, schedule and cost management for missions.
• Manage core systems‑engineering elements such as functional analysis, concept of operations, mission analysis, system modes, specification tree, requirements, interfaces and the engineering database.
• Lead risk, opportunity and resolution planning activities.
• Oversee subsystem and software design, ensuring proper interface control.
• Provide technical input to Product Assurance and support launch and in‑orbit commissioning.
• Lead technical assessments, trade‑offs, baseline definition, budget tracking and change control.
• Write and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation.
• Ensure development and validation planning for spacecraft and ground segment within program constraints.
• Support Assembly, Integration and Verification (AIV) and test phases.
• Consolidate and iterate the systems‑engineering process across the company.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in the spacecraft industry.
• Proven experience in system‑requirements decomposition, trade studies and sizing/error‑budget development for spacecraft systems.
• Familiarity with the full space‑program lifecycle from business development to successful delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and manage multiple critical activities simultaneously.
