Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and optimise our AWS infrastructure across development and production environments. You will drive automation, ensure environment parity, and support AI/ML workloads while maintaining high standards of security, cost efficiency and observability.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision and manage AWS services such as RDS (Postgres), EC2/ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, Route53, S3, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, ACM, SES and CloudWatch.
• Maintain strict parity between dev and prod using reusable Terraform modules and patterns.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, enabling trunk‑based development and feature‑flagged releases.
• Implement observability stacks (metrics, logs, traces, alerts) using CloudWatch, Grafana or Datadog.
• Lead on‑call rotations, write runbooks and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Analyse monthly AWS bills, apply Savings Plans, Reserved Instances and other cost‑optimisation tactics.
• Enforce security and compliance through least‑privilege IAM policies, secret rotation and vulnerability scanning.
• Support AI/ML model serving, embedding storage and A/B testing for ranking experiments.
• Manage PostgreSQL databases: upgrades, parameter tuning, migrations, read replicas and point‑in‑time recovery.

Required profile

• 5+ years managing production infrastructure, with at least 3 years deep AWS experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with RDS Postgres, VPC networking, IAM, ECS/EKS, ALB/NLB, Route53, S3 and CloudFront.
• Proficiency in Terraform (modules, remote state, drift detection, multi‑environment).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent.
• Solid Linux knowledge and containerisation with Docker.
