Senior Accountant

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Investor Services and Banking (Luxembourg) S.A. is seeking a Senior Accountant to ensure accurate and efficient accounting operations across its Finance Department. The role involves managing daily accounting controls, supporting month‑end and year‑end closings, and collaborating with internal and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all tasks within the Accounting Section, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Review daily controls, including P&L accounts and foreign‑exchange positions.
• Manage banking system accounts – opening, amending, and closing procedures.
• Validate general expenses and payments processed through Novabank.
• Participate in monthly and annual closing activities for the Bank, its Irish branch, and the Management company.
• Handle daily accounting requests received via email.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns on time.
• Reconcile BCEE Nostro accounts daily.
• Record and approve accounting entries in Olympic and Nova Bank systems.
• Oversee monthly payroll accounting processes and related entries.
• Maintain suspense accounts, BCL reserve, and Balance of Payments information.
• Process and pay taxes promptly.
• Perform reconciliations for assigned account sets.
• Review and approve commission receivables/payables and general expense provisions.
• Monitor monthly budget follow‑up reports.
• Control foreign‑exchange coverage for bookings and payments.
• Support the Head of Finance during statutory audits by providing required documentation.
• Assist with ongoing projects, operational initiatives, and internal process improvements.
• Provide guidance on accounting matters and ensure compliance with standards.
• Offer backup support to maintain continuity of accounting operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg tax regulations and accounting standards.
• Understanding of banking operations.
• High professional consciousness and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English; French is an asset.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Lux GAAPs (Luxembourg Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Familiarity with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is an asset.
