Risk Officer (m/f/d)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established financial services firm in Luxembourg, is seeking an Investment Risk Analyst to join its risk management team. The role offers the chance to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the analysis, monitoring, and reporting of investment risks across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Support identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of market, liquidity, operational, valuation, credit and counterparty risks.
• Participate in risk oversight of alternative investments and private market assets.
• Prepare risk analyses and reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Assess portfolios against risk limits, investment guidelines and risk profiles.
• Assist in transaction reviews and provide risk‑related input on investment opportunities.
• Help develop and enhance risk‑management tools, methodologies and reporting frameworks.
• Contribute to quantitative and qualitative risk modelling projects and perform counterparty due‑diligence.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update internal policies as needed.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in risk management within financial services, asset management, consulting, audit or a regulated environment.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Interest in investment management, financial markets and risk analysis.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Programming or database skills such as Python, VBA or SQL.
