Prototype Build Operation Technician

About the role

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a dynamic Prototype Build Operation Technician for its Luxembourg Technical Center. The role focuses on assembling and testing prototype components according to engineering requests, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Receive work requests, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
• Retrieve components from storage while following traceability rules.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers or Tool Designers to create required tooling.
• Assemble and test components following the Process Control Plan (PCP) and work instructions.
• Complete PCP reports and record any deviations.
• Participate in troubleshooting with product, process, and quality engineering teams.
• Attend debriefings of work orders with engineering stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred but not required).
• 2‑5 years of experience as a technician, preferably in automotive power‑electronics.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and flexible working hours to meet prototype schedules.
• Fluency in English; French is a plus.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
