Postdoctoral Researcher in Number Theory & Arithmetic Geometry

About the role

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Luxembourg invites a post‑doctoral researcher to join Prof. Yujie Xu’s group. The position focuses on research in Number Theory, Representation Theory and Arithmetic Geometry, with particular interest in the Langlands Program and p‑adic Hodge theory.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research aligned with the group’s interests, contributing to high‑impact publications.
• Participate in departmental scientific activities, seminars and conferences.
• Provide up to 45 hours per year of teaching, including lectures and tutorials.
• Engage in outreach activities organised by the Department of Mathematics.

Required profile

• High‑quality PhD in Mathematics with an outstanding research record appropriate to the career stage.
• Strong interest in Number Theory, Representation Theory, Arithmetic Geometry or related areas.
• Excellent command of English; good knowledge of French is desirable.
• Motivation to contribute to both research and teaching missions.
