Operational Tax Manager / Senior Manager – Financial Services

About the role

Grant Thornton Luxembourg is looking for an experienced professional to lead its Operational Tax team within the Tax‑Financial Services practice. The role combines advisory and compliance work for financial‑services clients, focusing on FATCA, CRS, QI and related EU directives. The successful candidate will work on‑site, at client locations and remotely, reporting to senior partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational tax advice and ensure compliance with FATCA, CRS, QI, DAC 8, CRS 2.0 and EU FASTER for financial‑services clients.
• Prepare and review deliverables such as classification memoranda, compliance reviews, self‑certification remediation and tax reporting.
• Manage and coach a team of tax experts, overseeing health‑check projects and remediation initiatives.
• Coordinate international tax advice with Grant Thornton offices across the network.
• Contribute to business development by monitoring regulatory changes and supporting client events and internal training.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of relevant experience in a law firm, consultancy, fiduciary or financial institution in Luxembourg or another EU country.
• Master’s degree in Law, Economics or Finance, preferably with a tax law specialization.
• Fluent English; French or German is an asset.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
